Origin
Northstar Cheer had its humble beginning as a recreational class at Rose City Gymnastics, taught by Cheri McCurdy, in 2006.
In the summer of 2006, the dream of starting a cheerleading program, moved to Winstar gymnastic and Northstar Cheer was born.   Our first season as a competitive program consisted of two teams and a total of 34 athletes.
Northstar Cheer operated out of Winstars Gymnastic for two and half years. We would like to thank Carey Vingeaux, and Winstars Gymnastic, for all of their help, promoting our program, and the sport of cheerleading, in the Windsor Essex area. In March 2009, after growing to a membership of 74 competitive athletes,  Northstar Cheer grew out of the Winstar’s available space and new home is at 5345 Outer Drive North.
